I received my B.A. in psychology from New York University, my M.A. in psychology from Boston University, and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research in New York City. Throughout my clinical training and career, I worked in the psychiatric department at several local area hospitals including Beth Israel Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital, and St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. I gained extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, mood, and personality disorders and received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Insight-Oriented/Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I also formerly worked as a Supervising Psychologist at the Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders and as an Associate Research Scientist at the Social Intervention Group at Columbia University.
Currently, I maintain an independent private practice in NYC where I provide assessment, consultation, and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. In addition, I work as a Research Scientist at the Trauma and Addictions Project at the City University of New York - The City College. My clinical research interests include the assessment and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse, cultural competence in the provision of mental health services, and reducing health disparities.
